Leadership Day reflection

Recently the year 6 cohort got together with the Carey Donvale year 6s and we had our leadership day. Every year the year 6s come together and they do fun activities in a group. All of the groups have a colour. My teams colour was black but then we had to change into white shirts because there wasn’t enough blacks tops.

All of the activities were ran by the staff. Some of the activities we did were a planking competition, in that we had to have more than half of your team planking at once. For us we had to have 6 people planking at once, unfortunately we got disqualified first. Another activity we did was a brain talk with Jen Dooley which was mainly about our number 1 and 2 brain and our comfort zone, stretch zone and danger zone. We also talked about how we know we are in these zones and how we get out of them.

An activity that made me learn how I am as an individual was definitely the brain talk with Jen because it made me think about what makes me comfortable and what doesn’t. The activity that made me think about how I am was the planking competition because in that we had to use a lot of communication because if we didn’t we would get disqualified.

Overall I had a great time and I’m disappointed that we don’t get to do it again. Continue reading “Leadership Day reflection”
